MONTREAL – Nearly, six kilograms of an illegal substance was seized from the suitcases of two travelers at Montreal’s Pierre Elliott Trudeau airport on Sunday, October 5.

The suspected drugs – most likely cocaine, according to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) – were concealed in the false-bottom of the travelers’ suitcases.

“Our border services officers’ vigilance, excellent intuition and experience are Canada’s first line of defence against narcotics smuggling,” said Benoît Chiquette, Quebec’s Regional CBSA Director General.

“[Our officers] contribute to the safety of our streets and our communities.”
