EDMONTON – RCMP are searching for a 24-year-old they consider to be armed and dangerous following a pursuit in Sylvan Lake.
Just after 11 p.m. Saturday, officers pulled over a Dodge Ram truck. Police say the driver lied about his name, but officers quickly discovered his true identity and realized he had warrants out for his arrest. At that point, the driver fled.
According to RCMP, the truck almost struck an officer before hitting a police vehicle in his escape. Police followed the truck through Sylvan Lake then north on Highway 20 towards Bentley. The pursuit was eventually called off because it was considered a risk to the public.
