“The main thing is connection for people that they feel connected through the music together,” said Jordan Hanson, a drumming teacher. “Drumming is kind of like the popular music all around the world.”

Hanson studied music in  Africa, Cuba, Brazil and different parts of Asia. He now hopes to share what he learned with others in North America.

“I found everywhere that I went people were drumming and when I came back to Canada I wanted to teach some of the stuff that I learned,” he said.

Hason holds various workshops throughout the year. More information can be found at http://www.drumwinnipeg.com
