VANCOUVER – The family of 57-year-old Brent Oldfield is very concerned they have not heard from him since his arrival in Canada seven days ago.
Oldfield is Canadian but had been living in Australia for four years. His girlfriend, who is still in Australia, says they were planning to move to Vancouver and Oldfield had travelled here to look for accommodation and employment.
He was last seen leaving the international customs area at YVR around 1 p.m. on Oct. 2 and no one has heard from him since.
He was carrying a large amount of Australian currency and his family is concerned that may have made him a target for thieves.

His family says it is totally out of character for him not to contact them but they believe he may still be trying to access his email as they are getting reset requests to the back-up account.
Oldfield is described as Caucasian, with a slender build, 5ft 8, with closely-cropped grey hair, and a grey moustache.
He was last seen wearing black jeans, a black polo shirt, a dark grey or black fleece sweater, a black wool toque, and a blue denim jacket.
He would also have been wearing a black fanny pack and would have had a large red suitcase on wheels, a purple duffle bag on wheels and a purple carry-on bag.
