Workers at two Cameco facilities ratify new contract

SASKATOON – Cameco (TSX:CCO) says its 535 employees at its McArthur River mine and Key Lake mill in Saskatchewan have accepted a new contract.

The four-year deal between the uranium producer and United Steelworkers Local 8914 was reached on Sept. 12.

Cameco says the new contract includes a 12 per cent wage increase over the life of the agreement, which will expire on Dec. 31, 2017.

Workers had been off the job from late August until the tentative settlement was reached.

Saskatoon-based Cameco is one of the world’s largest uranium producers.

The strike was the first in the company’s history.
