Magnotta, 32, faces a first-degree murder charge in the May 2012 slaying and dismemberment of Chinese student Jun Lin. He has admitted to the crimes, but his lawyer has indicated he will mount a defence of mental disorder to seek a verdict of not criminally responsible.
