WATCH: Pod of Pacific white-sided dolphins join whale watching tour

VANCOUVER – A few weeks ago Ian McLaren captured the above footage from the front of a whale watching boat near Telegraph Cove on northern Vancouver Island.

A pod of Pacific white-sided dolphins met up with the boat and swam in front, giving everyone on board quite the show.

Recently, white-sided dolphins have been spotted off the coast of Victoria and the San Juan Islands, which is much further south than they have been sighted before.

The species mostly disappeared from the area more than 10 years ago and the recent sightings could mean they are making a comeback.
