National Peace Officers’ Memorial Run kick-off today

TORONTO – Peace officers from across Ontario begin their annual three-day National Peace Officers’ Memorial Run from Toronto to Ottawa today.

A total of 300 participants will take part in the 460 kilometre run to the Canadian Police and Peace Officers’ Memorial on Parliament Hill.

The 10th annual event pays tribute to police officers who have been killed in the line of duty.

The run kicks-off at 8:15 a.m. in front of Queen’s Park and coincides with the annual Canadian Police and Peace Officers’ Memorial Service to be held in Ottawa this upcoming Sunday.
