SASKATOON – SaskPower says it’s taking steps to make sure there is enough power in the coming years.
The Crown utility is investing $500 million in natural gas powered generators at the Queen Elizabeth Power station in Saskatoon.

The generators will emit half the amount of carbon dioxide and other gases thanks to steam generators capturing the exhaust and turning that into power.
The total amount of power will be 200 megawatts.
The project will include 35 natural gas turbines, six steam generators and a steam turbine.
They are expected to start producing electricity in 2015 for 200,000 homes.
