More parking at University of Saskatchewan to deal with transit lockout

SASKATOON – The University of Saskatchewan has opened up extra parking on campus after the city locked out Saskatoon Transit workers Saturday evening.

There will be increased capacity on current campus parking lots.

Temporary parking permits can be purchased at Lot 15 beside the Saskatoon Field House and in the lot behind the Williams Building along Cumberland Avenue.

A temporary parking lot will be added in the north end of campus off Innovation Boulevard which will be available to all campus members.

Weekly and temporary parking permits can be purchased through the parking and transportation office starting at 7:30 a.m.

Campus drop-off can occur directly in front of Place Riel and the Administration Building.

The university is also reminding people of UCommute, a free service available through their PAWS accounts. Once enrolled, members can locate fellow commuters based on proximity for car pooling.

Additional bike racks will also be added to central areas on campus.
