EDMONTON – Police are investigating a crash that sent an 11-year-old girl to hospital Monday evening.
Investigators say she was a pedestrian who had the right-of-way when she was hit by a vehicle in the area of 38 Street and 137 Avenue. It happened around 6:45 p.m.
The girl has been taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, however, investigators believe that impaired visibility due to the sun may have been a factor.
There were two other crashes on 137 Avenue Monday evening. One was at 122 Street and is believed to have been caused by a medical episode. A man had to be taken to hospital after hitting a light pole.
Another minor collision at 66 Street involved a police cruiser.
