A spokesperson for the Peel District School Board says counsellors will be at the school today to help students who knew the slain girl.

She was described as an honour student and a lovely person.

Reports say that before Friday, the 16-year-old boy had left a series of messages on Facebook, expressing his disappointment in life.

One of the people he said goodbye to was 17-year-old Nijjar, who called him her “best friend for life.”
