A Lethbridge MMA fighter, and instructor, has pleaded not guilty to a charge of sexual battery. James Lee Mein was arrested last month in Tulsa, Oklahoma after a hotel housekeeper reported that she’d been kissed and groped in Mein’s hotel room.
Today Jason Edge, Mein’s lawyer entered a not guilty plea on Mein’s behalf.
Mein’s lawyer says his client is adamant that the allegations are false and wanted to plead not guilty at the earliest opportunity. Mein told Global News “ I did nothing wrong and I will fight this till the end.”
The case is scheduled to return to court next week on September 18th at which time the judge has ordered Mein to appear in person.
