TORONTO — Actor Neil Patrick Harris and his longtime partner David Burtka have tied the knot.

“I got married over the weekend,” Harris tweeted Monday. “In Italy. Yup, we put the ‘n’ and ‘d’ in ‘husband’.”

On Live! With Kelly and Michael, co-host Kelly Ripa said she was among the guests at the couple’s nuptials.

Ripa called the ceremony a “very quiet, very private, family affair” at a castle in Perugia, Italy.

“The wedding vows were so beautiful,” she said. Ripa said Harris and Burtka’s 3-year-old twins Harper and Gideon were part of the wedding.

Sir Elton John performed for the newlyweds and there were fireworks and magic tricks.

Harris, 41, and Burtka, 39, have been together a decade and were engaged in June 2011.
