WINNIPEG – A bobcat that’s been recovering from injury at a Manitoba wildlife centre, is back in its natural habitat.
Officials released “Amira” into the wild Thursday morning.
The female cat has been in the care of the Prairie Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre south of Winnipeg since last year. The centre held a fundraising dinner last spring to raise money for Amira’s care.

The bobcat, now back in good health, was released into the Tall Grass Prairie Preserve, about 100 km south of Winnipeg.
Bobcats are solitary predators, about twice the size of a normal house cat, and are found in southern Canada, the U.S. and Mexico.
