Bullets fly in central Edmonton, several people in custody

EDMONTON – Police say shots were fired at a group of youths from inside a vehicle in central Edmonton early Wednesday morning.

The shooting happened near 115 Ave. and 82 St. shortly after 2 a.m.

Witnesses reported four occupants in a Grand Prix were allegedly firing shots in the area.

Officers responded and located the vehicle. The occupants – two men, 20 and 32 years old, and two women, 37 and 19 – were all taken into custody. There is no word on charges at this time.

No injuries were reported, although police say one home was hit by a stray bullet.

The investigation is ongoing and will try to determine whether the shooing was random or targeted.
