Local horse rescue society needs new home

Travis Lowe - Global News

KELOWNA–It’s a society of volunteers that cares for and re-homes horses that have been surrendered.

The BC Interior Horse Rescue Society has been at it’s current home on McKinley Road for the past four years, but now the owner of the property needs the land for other purposes.

As of October 15th, the society won’t have a place to house the animals.

It’s looking for an offer of two to three acres of land, free of charge or with a very low rent.

The society is non-profit, relying solely on donations to cover the cost of caring for the animals.

If someone does step forward they would not be required to feed, care for or clean up after the animals.

A group of volunteers does all the work, including building any fencing or shelter that’s required.

If you can help out, contact the BC Interior Horse Rescue Society.
