TORONTO – About 15,000 wasps are living large in a Florida backyard after building a giant nest behind an old, comfy reclining chair.
Tony Smarte went to check on his mother’s property this week when he found the massive nest.
“Every time I think about it I get chills,” Smarte told WFLA News. “See I’m getting chills now thinking about it.”

The Winter Haven resident called a pest removal company to see if the nest can be removed.
“This is off the charts,” said Westley Bass, a pest control technician. ” It’s going to be probably several people out here taking care of it at one time.”
Smarte told the NBC affiliate he feared for his mother’s well-being.
“She can’t run. If a bunch of them got her, they could kill her,” Smarte said.
The nest was scheduled to be removed Friday.
