Plane crashes at Grande Prairie baseball diamond

EDMONTON – A pilot and passenger walked away from a plane crash at a Grande Prairie baseball diamond Wednesday night.

A Piper light aircraft crashed into a field at South Bear Creek after attempting to make an emergency landing at around 7 p.m.

Police believe the plane might have ran out of fuel.

The single engine light aircraft suffered significant damage, but the pilot and single passenger were uninjured.

The pair are Americans who were travelling from Montana to Alaska.
