VANCOUVER – Final preparations are underway today for the Squamish Valley Music Festival.

The event is expected to draw more than 35,000 people a day. After recent deaths at both the Pemberton Festival and Boonstock in Penticton, organizers have set up eight medial tents on the site, which can handle potential drug overdoses.

More than 500 private security guards will be searching attendees for drugs or alcohol at the gates and RCMP will be patrolling the site 24 hours a day.
