TIMBERLEA — Halifax police are investigating a quiet Timberlea neighborhood, after residents reported numerous car windows blown out by apparent shotgun blasts.

Police arrived on James Street mid-morning responding to a call of a broken car window. They discovered at least three vehicles with shattered windows on James and Charles Streets.
The Forensic Identification Services was called to begin processing the scene. Shell casings and shotgun wadding was found near the damaged property.

RCMP would not confirm the type of weapon used in the shootings. Residents told Global News the incident happened around 6:00 a.m. although police say they first received calls around 11:00 a.m.

Police say they have not recovered any weapon, but are still searching the area. Roads remained open while officers went door to door gathering witness statements.
