REGINA – A local family is mourning the loss of four relatives killed in a Gaza beach attack earlier this month.
“You can’t find the words to describe the pain of the people,” said Gaza-born Samar Ismail, who moved to Canada over a decade ago.

The recent rise in violence between Israel and Gaza is creating a sense of helplessness among relatives watching from afar.
“People become like numbers; hundred people killed today, 50 people…You don’t know what to do,” said Mahmoud Ismail, Samar’s husband.
The heartbreak is being shared by others in the Muslim community during Ramadan, which is supposed to be a time of peace.
“We really have two celebrations as Muslims in the entire year, and this is one of them. And to deal with situations like that it’s really sad for the people here in Regina,” Ahmad Almughrabi, a board member of the Islamic Society of Regina.
