VANCOUVER – Fireworks lit up the night sky over Vancouver Saturday night in the first evening of the Celebration of Light.
Team USA went with some classic songs to accompany its spectacular performance.
More than 250,000 people crowded on to the shores of English Bay and Kitsilano to watch the 25 minute long show, with many giving it rave reviews.
Police were out in full force enforcing alcohol restrictions, but say on the whole, there were very few issues.
There were 239 liquor pour outs, 48 liquor seizures, two weapons seizures, 53 violation tickets issued, seven by-law tickets, one arrest for intoxication in public and 17 breach of peace arrests.
The next fireworks night will take place on Wednesday with Team France.
