Tropical depression forms in Atlantic Ocean

TORONTO – The second tropical depression of the Atlantic hurricane season has formed in the Atlantic Ocean.

Tropical Depression Two is located east of the Lesser Antilles islands and moving westward at about 28 km/h.

Though no watches or warnings have been issued in the islands yet, the National Hurricane Center is advising people in the region to monitor the storm’s progress.

The depression has a maximum sustained wind speed of 55 km/h with higher gusts. It is expected to continue to move westward but weaken as it approaches the Caribbean Sea on Wednesday.
