The 14th annual Toronto Chinatown Festival took place on Saturday, July 19th and Sunday July 20th. Global’s Weekend Anchor and Health Reporter, Crystal Goomansingh, co-hosted the opening ceremony of the festival. The ceremony recognized city officials and dignitaries for their support of the festival.

A little rain didn’t stop thousands from coming out to celebrate and take part in the festivities throughout the weekend. Various vendors lined Dundas Street with food and entertainment offering the community an authentic taste of Chinese culture. The festival kicked off with a parade of lion dancers making their way down the street to the sound of traditional Chinese drums.
