TORONTO – A police officer’s body camera captured dramatic video of his heroic efforts to rescue a lifeless toddler.
According to 19 Action News, officer Ismael Quintana was on patrol last month when he was dispatched to a home where a child was reportedly drowned.
“One of the little kids ran to the front and said the baby was in the pool, drowned,” said Cynthia Connor, the victim’s aunt. “So we immediately ran back there.”

Connor’s 2-year-old nephew, who had climbed into the above-ground swimming pool, was found underwater.
In the footage, released by the Cleveland Police Department, Quintana is seen performing chest compressions on the lifeless child while the boy’s aunt performed mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.
“Come on, Papi. Breathe!” the officer said.
The pair continued to perform CPR for several minutes.
“He’s breathing, he’s breathing,” a bystander is heard saying.
The boy was taken to hospital for observation and released a few days later.
