BLOG: Morning News Rewind – June 30

Diefenbaker Park is the place to be to celebrate Canada’s 147th birthday.

File / Global News

On Monday’s Morning News, Kevin learns about a bike and bass tour supporting United Way and gets details on Canada Day celebrations at Diefenbaker Park; while Melissa was live to find out why pets will be in the park on Sunday. Also tips on dressing for your complexion in Saskatoon Style.

Just a reminder – there is no Morning News on Canada Day.

Bike and bass tour

Well, if you haven’t heard the man, go watch the clip! Seriously.

Felipe Gomez is a machine. He did things with a bass guitar that I’ve never seen, and he wants to teach you!

Never picked up a bass guitar before? Whatever! He still wants you to learn from him!

He’s also biking across the country to raise money for United Way. So, there’s that.

Pets in the Park

Today we had a chance to hang out with Chi to talk about Pets in the Park. The event is a collaboration between the Saskatoon SPCA, New Hope Dog Rescue and SCAT Street Cat Rescue Program. Money raised will help fund medical care for animals in need.

The event has been going on for nine years and has since grown. On Sunday there will be live music, food and treats for those that participate.

It isn’t everyday that pets are allowed in Kiwanis Park but on Sunday they have receive an exemption from the city. If you and your pet (even cats!) want to come down it is all starting at 9 a.m.

Dressing for your complexion

Fashion blogger Maygen Kardash offers tips to both sexes on how to dress for your complexion.

Canada Day celebrations in Saskatoon

Diefenbaker Park is going to be hip-hopping for tomorrow’s big day. Happy birthday, Canada!

Head on down from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. to check out the awesome festivities and live music.
