MONTREAL – Montreal police are investigating after a 27-year-old man was shot and killed just after 1 a.m. Saturday morning in Côte-des-Neiges.
Police were called to the corner of Victoria avenue and Mackenzie street after receiving several reports of gunshots.
“There was a get-together, a party, at a restaurant near the scene,”said Constable Jean-Pierre Brabant with the Montreal police.
“Investigators are meeting with witnesses to try and get any information.”

The victim was taken to hospital with two gunshot wounds in his upper body.
He was pronounced dead several hours later.
A firearm was found at the restaurant, but police have yet to confirm whether or not it is the weapon used in the attack.
No suspects have been arrested.
“The witnesses in the restaurant were not cooperative,” said Brabant.
This marks Montreal’s 15th homicide for 2014, two more than last year at this time.
