VERNON — It’s amazing the two teenagers inside the car are still alive.
The crash was captured last Thursday night by a security camera at a business on silver star road in Vernon.
It shows a fast travelling Honda Civic sliding on its side into a utility pole, and the pole then smashing through the windshield.

The two boys, ages 17 and 16, were trapped and had to be removed from the wreckage with the aid of the fire department.
They both were taken to hospital by ambulance with serious injuries, including broken bones.
Because of the seriousness of the incident, an RCMP crash analyst is assisting in the investigation.
It’s not believed alcohol use is a contributing factor, but excessive speed likely is.
