TORONTO – A group of New Jersey fishermen are going to need a bigger boat — or at least another chumbucket — after a great white shark ripped the bucket from the side of their boat.

Steve Clark and four other people were fishing last week when they had a “once in a lifetime” encounter.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

“It was awesome. It wasn’t scary because we’re used to sharks, it was awesome,” Clark told CBS. “I happened to see it first and obviously I was a bit stunned, I didn’t say anything to anybody, I was just trying to process the information because it was quite a big fish.”

The crew was out fishing for mako sharks when the great white decided to have a snack of his own.
