Divers to search northern Saskatchewan river for two missing men

BEAUVAL, Sask. – RCMP believe a vehicle may have driven off a bridge into a northern Saskatchewan river on Saturday.

An impaired driving complaint had RCMP scouring the community of Beauval, Sask. at around 7:15 a.m.

Investigators learned that two local men, in their 20s, were seen in a vehicle described as a silver Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck.

During the search, vehicle debris was found at a bridge near Beauval.

Underwater cameras took photos of an object resembling a vehicle in Beaver River.

RCMP spokesperson Sgt. Craig Cleary says it is unknown at this time if there are bodies in the vehicle but they are aware of the high probability.

Concerned family and community members have gathered at the scene.

The RCMP underwater recovery team was expected to arrive Sunday evening.
