Shooting at a restaurant in East Vancouver

Vancouver police are investigating what they say is a targeted shooting at a restaurant on Victoria Drive and 35th Avenue.

Police say they were called at about 12:30 p.m. on Thursday to the Lam Hoa Quan Restaurant on Victoria Drive. When they arrived they found a 33-year-old man inside the restaurant with several gunshot wounds.

The victim is in hospital in critical, but stable condition, and police say he is known to them.

Police also believe that one gunman entered through the rear of the restaurant, shot the victim and fled out back to a waiting vehicle.

Due to the police investigating the incident, bus services have been delayed and re-routed in the area.

The number 20 bus will be rerouted at the Grandview terminus and two shuttles will be running between Harrison Loop and Grandview via Victoria Street, 41st Avenue, Knight Street and 33rd Avenue in both directions.

Anyone with information about this shooting is asked to contact the Vancouver Police Major Crime Section at (604) 717-2541 or Crime Stoppers at  1 (800) 222-8477.
