UPDATE: Edmonton police investigate pair of shootings

EDMONTON – A man was sent to hospital Wednesday morning after a shooting in southeast Edmonton.

Police blocked off an area at Ellerslie Road between 91 Street and Parsons Road while they investigated.

Police say a man suffered a leg injury and was taken to hospital. His condition is not known.

A vehicle was found at the scene with its driver side window shattered, and broken glass was scattered along Ellerslie Road.

Police were investigating another shooting Wednesday morning. This one happened in southwest Edmonton in the area of 201 Street and 52 Avenue.

The EPS received several calls from residents around 3:45 a.m. reporting gunfire. Police responded and found four shell casings in the area and a bullet hole in a garage nearby.

There were no victims found at the scene.

Witness reported seeing a black man in a white hoodie shooting at a vehicle, and a man matching that description was found nearby and arrested on unrelated matters.

Police say the shooting was in the same area as a porch fire that happened last Friday, but haven’t said if the two incidents are related.
