Authorities say the fire appears to have spread from a bin outside the house to a BMW parked nearby, triggering the vehicle’s alarm system.

Firefighters doused the blaze, but not before it caused more than $100,000 in damage. No one was hurt.

Police say they consider the incident suspicious, but have no evidence to connect it with the rash of fires on May 9.

The Ontario Fire Marshal has been called in to investigate.
