Driver killed after car slams into Eastdale secondary school in Oshawa

WATCH: Durham police are investigating after a car hit the side of an Oshawa, Ont. school, killing the driver, on May 28, 2014.

TORONTO – A driver is dead after a car slammed into a wall at Eastdale Collegiate and Vocational Institute in Oshawa Wednesday morning.

Durham police say it appears the car was “deliberately” driven into the wall.

School officials released a comment on Twitter telling staff and students to stay home as classes are cancelled for the day.

ECVI is closed today for a police inestigation. All staff and students should stay home.

The incident happened 7 a.m. near King Street East and Harmony Road North.
