Also today we had a chat with Pamela Haapa-aho from the YMCA. The big family fun run goes this weekend with programs going to support the Strong Kids campaign. When I first met Pam, I thought her last name was Hawaiian. It’s actually Finnish. Aloha to you. I mean, hyvää huomenta.

I’ve talked many times about the big snow storm of 1967. On this day, May 3, 1967 we had 28 cm of snow on the ground. That’s after much of it had melted as on May 1, 1967 there was 74 cm of snow on the ground. This was after already had a massive snow storm. On April 22, 1967 we had 58 cm on the ground.
And yet back on this day in 1992 we hit an all-time record high of 30. One can only quote Forrest Gump: Weather’s like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re going to get.
