Halifax police search for child luring suspect

HALIFAX – Police are searching for a male suspect who reportedly tried to lure a 10-year-old girl into his car.

Around 4:20 p.m. Sunday, police said the girl was walking near Agricola and Merkel when the man approached her. He reportedly pulled over in his small black car and asked the girl if she wanted a ride. The 10-year-old declined and then reported the incident to police.

Police said the suspect is a white man, in his late teens or early 20s. He is described as having dirty blonde, shoulder-length hair and was wearing a green t-shirt. Police said the man has a goatee and a round face. His car has Nova Scotia plates and was possibly a Volkeswagen model.
