Watch: Raw video from the scene in HoMa where a seriously injured woman was found
MONTREAL – Police are investigating after a seriously injured woman was found in the Hochelaga-Maisonneuve district of Montreal early Tuesday.
The 36-year-old was rushed to hospital after police discovered her blood-soaked body behind a truck in a secluded, industrial area near 1900 Moreau Street.
They had been called to the scene after a passerby spotted the woman lying on the ground.
Barely conscious, she was transported to hospital, where she remains in critical condition.
“Right now she’s our only witnesses to what happened,” said Montreal police spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant.
“We can’t say if she was attacked or if this is an accident until we find a witness or until we’re able to talk to her.”
He also confirmed that she was known to police.
Authorities are gathering evidence from the scene and hope to review footage from surveillance cameras on nearby warehouses.
