SASKATOON – The Saskatoon Fire Department was called to a strip mall on Sunday afternoon after reports of smoke coming from one of the businesses.
Firefighters arrived at 218 Wheeler Avenue around 3 p.m. and found smoke coming out of a window on the second floor of the business.
Crews entered the vacant business and were able to contain a fire that had started on equipment and materials being stored on pallet racks.
No injuries were reported.
Fire investigators have determined the fire was caused by the failure of an electrical fan in an appliance.
Damage is estimated at $50,000.
