Firefighters were called to the McCauley neighbourhood in Edmonton just after 4:00 on Monday afternoon after a house fire broke out.
It took crews about half an hour to get the blaze under control, before they turned their attention to putting out hot spots.
The building suffered serious smoke damage, and most of the roof was destroyed.
It is believed that the three storey house in the area of 97th street and 106th avenue is abandoned.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
