CALGARY- A scholarship has been created in honour of one of the young victims of a horrific stabbing spree that took five lives.
Kaiti Perras was among those killed early Tuesday morning, at a party celebrating the end of the school year. 22-year-old Matthew de Grood now faces five counts of first-degree murder in connection with the case.
23-year-old Perras had attended Mount Royal University as a Bachelor of Arts student, and was very involved in the local dance scene. To celebrate her life, a memorial scholarship has been set up at Counterpoint Dance Marda Loop.

Perras both trained and taught at the studio for over a decade. It’s hoped the scholarship will allow underprivileged children who otherwise couldn’t afford classes to be able to dance.
