“Turbo Kid” films in Montreal

MONTREAL – Our city is filling in for a post-apocalyptic world as the film “Turbo Kid” starts shooting.

The movie stars legendary Canadian actor Michael Ironside, along with Munro Chambers.

“They sent me the script and usually films, you mull them over and think about them. This script I actually read it twice,” said Ironside.

“I went and got a cup of tea and said, this really can’t be this good. And I read it again.”

It’s a Canada-New Zealand co-production.

The story deals with an orphaned teenager called “the Kid” who scavenges the wasteland searching for relics.

“It’s a low budget film,” said Ironside.

“It’s supposed to be after the apocalypse that happened in 1997. And it’s somewhere between a comic book and reality.”
