WATCH: Truck struck by a train in Fort Langley

The driver of semi-tractor trailer suffered life-threatening injuries after colliding with a train in Langley this morning.

An early investigation by Langley RCMP suggests the driver of the semi did not see the train and froze on the tracks when he realized he would collide with the train.

According to police, the trailer broke apart and the driver was trapped in his truck but has now been freed. He was transported to hospital by air ambulance and has serious injuries.

The Mounties are still on the scene near River Road and Armstrong and say there were no hazardous goods involved.

Commercial Vehicle Safety Enforcement will be involved in the investigation along with Langley RCMP.
