Attention, shoppers!
U.S. cult-discount giant Target – or Targé to followers – has just announced the first wave of 15 new B.C. locations opening soon in a mall near you.
Target Corp. made public the locations of its first 105 stores across Canada today. The company will take over Zellers locations and begin opening stores in early 2013.
B.C. shoppers will soon be able to push the retailer’s iconic red-bull’s-eye carts through store aisles across the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, the Interior and northern B.C.
Locations include:

“¢ Coquitlam’s Coquitlam Centre
“¢ Burnaby’s Metropolis
“¢ Delta’s Scottsdale Mall
“¢ Langley’s Willowbrook Mall
“¢ Abbotsford’s Power Centre
“¢ Maple Ridge’s Haney Place Mall
“¢ Chilliwack’s Cottonwood Mall
“¢ Victoria’s Tillicum Mall
“¢ Nanaimo’s North Town Centre
“¢ Courtenay’s Driftwood Mall
“¢ Campbell River’s Discovery Harbour Shopping Centre
“¢ Vernon’s Village Green Mall
“¢ Cranbrook’s Tamarack Mall
“¢ Prince George’s Pine Centre
The company has taken over a total of 220 Zellers leaseholds and plans to open more Target outlets in the coming years.
In addition to the B.C. locations, there will be 45 locations in Ontario, 19 in Quebec, 13 in Alberta, five in Manitoba, two in Saskatchewan, Newfoundland and Nova Scotia, and one in both P.E.I. and New Brunswick. The new Target Canada headquarters will be located in Mississauga, Ont.
Target Canada president Tony Fisher made the announcement in Chicago Thursday.
