OPP probing theft of officer’s gun, ammo

NORFOLK, Ont. – The provincial police says the Criminal Investigation Branch has been called in following the theft of an OPP issued handgun from the Norfolk Count detachment.

Police say that the Sig Sauer P229 handgun and ammunition magazine was stolen from a locked gun box within the detachment sometime between March 6 and March 14.

Acting Det. Insp. Dave Robinson of the Criminal Investigation Branch is conducting the investigation.

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to contact the OPP or Crime Stoppers.
