Toronto man charged ahead of G20 gets bail

TORONTO – A Toronto man charged just days before the G20 summit last June has been granted bail.

Byron Sonne was charged with weapons and explosives offences and has been in custody since his June 22 arrest.

Four of the charges were later dropped.

Sonne, 38, is still facing a charge of possession of materials used to make explosives and counselling mischief.

Earlier this year, explosives and weapons charges against Sonne’s wife were dropped.
