Motorcyclist dead after collision with Mississauga bus: Peel Regional Police

A motorcyclist died Wednesday morning after a collision with a transit bus in Mississauga, Peel Regional Police say.

Police said it received a call around 9:26 a.m. for a crash near Bovaird and Great Lakes drives involving a motorcycle and the bus.

The driver of the bus was taken to hospital while the motorcyclist – a man in his 50s – was pronounced dead on scene.

“Speed may be a factor in this collision. We still have yet to completely reconstruct the collision, speak to witnesses, look at CCTV footage and even look at the black box of the vehicles themselves,” Const. Amanda Steenson told reporters at the scene.

“So that will give us more information as to how this incident took place.”

The investigation is ongoing.
