Wearing a seatbelt and having kids properly restrained in the appropriate infant or car seat is the law in Saskatchewan.

Currently, failing to wear a seatbelt or not having children properly restrained results in a $175 ticket and three demerit points on a license.

This summer, a new law is expected to be passed in Saskatchewan making booster seats mandatory for children under seven-years-old, shorter than 4’9” and under 80 pounds. It would result in an additional $175 fine.
