CALGARY- A Good Samaritan who stepped in when he saw a homeless person being harassed has ended up in the hospital.
Witnesses said that around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, a man left The Gentlemen’s Club in downtown Red Deer, when he came across five men harassing a homeless man.
He spoke up, asking them to leave the man alone, at which point the men allegedly turned on him. He was severely beaten, and kicked in the head several times.
EMS rushed him to hospital, and he is expected to recover from his injuries, which included a concussion and multiple bruises. The homeless person was not injured.
The suspects left in a taxi before RCMP arrived, and investigators are now trying to track them down. Anyone who has information about the incident is asked to contact RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
