SASKATOON – The Hazardous materials team dealt with a hydrochloric acid spill in Saskatoon on Monday.
Around 1:10 p.m., fire crews and the Hazmat team were called to an attached garage in the rear of 1721 8th Street East.
The 20 litre pail of hydrochloric acid was being used for cleaning metal pots that contained a concrete residue
All occupants of the building were safely evacuated.
Around 4 p.m., the building was turned back over to the property owner who is having a private company remove the chemical that has been neutralized.
No injuries were reported.
